Our 134 year history
In the summer of 1890, Rt. Rev. Ethelbert Talbot arrived in Casper, a town not quite two years old. His purpose was specifically to organize an Episcopal congregation. The first church building was funded by $500 of his own money, as well as money collected from the community. Work on the new building began in 1891. This would be Casper’s first ordained Christian church.
our 100 year-old sanctuary
The cornerstone of our stalwart building was laid in the summer of 1924 and much of the work was completed in the 10 months following. We celebrate 100 years of this iconic sanctuary this year. St. Mark's gives thanks for the countless baptisms, weddings, burial services, and Eucharists that have been celebrated in this place.
